SCI FI Channel Develops Earthlings
SCI FI Channel announced the development of Earthlings, a 90-minute comedy-drama pilot, which Dan Waters (Heathers) is writing and executive-producing. Aaron Geller will also be an executive producer, and Darryl Porter will be co-executive producer, under their PorterGeller Entertainment first-look deal with Fox Television Studios, the network reported.
Earthlings centers on three humanoid aliens who find themselves stranded in middle America and will explore the themes found in such classics as Stranger in a Strange Land, The Day the Earth Stood Still and Starman, but with a healthy dose of humor and South Park-like satire.
The alien trio—a woman and two men—must figure out how to escape while navigating the subtle and confusing social conventions of present-day Earth.
